WARNING! Do not watch this video if you are squeamish or don’t want to watch a mouse get attacked and eaten by a corn snake.
Meet Slytherin, my Corn Snake. Slytherin is about 2 years old and roughly 2 1/2 feet long. A fully grown corn snake (also known as the red rat snake) will grow between 3 and 4 feet in length, typically never getting much thicker than a garden hose.
As far as snakes go, corn snakes are an easy pet to take care of due to their calm nature. Corn snakes are very low maintenance. Feeding time comes only once a week, and if your not the kind of person who enjoys watching your snake catch and swallow a live mouse, then you can always buy frozen feeder mice from your local pet store. All you do is soak one of the frozen mice in a container of warm water for about 20 minutes, dry off the excess water and feed it to your snake.
